Once kept in a monastery, this beautiful trunk was used to store old and precious manuscripts, thankas not intended for public viewing, small Tibetan rugs and very likely, ritual images, costumes and masks used in religious celebrations throughout the year. A majestic dragon stares from a single medallion in the center. He is surrounded by a repeating design that emulates the pattern of
